Our last printer was a Canon and I was extremely pleased with it, so we bought another one when it died. Once used, it is USELESS. They are difficult to find (target and walmart did not carry all of them, and Staples was out when I needed them). But the biggest problem with the printer is the cartridges. And worst of all, even Canon does not recycle them to reuse them. Unlike my last printer, these cartridges CANNOT BE REFILLED. Although it prints well, the rollers already squeak (after 4 months) when forwarding paper through the printer and that's annoying. Unlike Canon's own "ECOSENSE" project, I find these cartridges to have no sense designed into them whatsoever.
When we ran out of ink while printing my son's school project, I ran down to our local "Cartridge World" to refill the color cartridges and got a big "NO" we can't do that. Apparently, Canon refuses to make a "chip resetter" for this cartridge. We had to order the cartridges online and print at school. I would never have bought this printer had I known of these problems.
This was a printer refurbished by Canon. Delivery was on time and the printer works perfectly and looks like a new one. I praise the supplier who sold this item to me.
I have bought two of these printers as gifts because they are easy to use and meet most needs m yet are compact. The low cost is a plus.
I would, however, also order a USB cord that goes from rectangular end to square, both sides male. I have not used this printer for pictures, so I will not comment on the quality.
Slower modes present far better quality, depending on your needs.Duplex (double-sided) printing is awesome for saving paper in all documentation.The scanner works fine, and both scanning and copying is a cinch.The printer has been used infrequently for almost 6 months now, and the cartridge has not had any problems or used much ink. Most documents have been printed with black, however.The design is unique and stylish.
I must admit, catching this printer with a sale at $80 is unbeatable.The printer prints at a decent quality (completely legible) in fast mode, of which will do a full page in about 4 seconds. Note that the paper does stack vertically, so do expect to use the same amount of space as a small TV (~20").
Although it is large, you cannot expect much smaller when it comes to an All-in-One. The LED screen is a nice addition, and It will hold quite a bit of paper.
Text and others, however, have been far better than most printers I have used.Again, this is a steal for $80, and at this price and my personal usage I could not give it less than 5 stars. This is required to hook up to computer, and does not come in the box.
This is the best printer/scanner I ever had.The quality of photos printed is excellent. It is easy to use and has many useful functions (like scanning a document and saving it as a PDF file, for example).I could not be happier with this printer. I would highly recommend it to anyone.
